Pneumococcal conjugate

Protect your child from pneumonia and other infections with the pneumococcal vaccine.

Understanding Pneumococcal Conjugate

The Pneumococcal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV13) protects against 13 types of pneumococcal bacteria, which can cause severe infections such as pneumonia, meningitis, and bloodstream infections (septicemia). These bacteria can lead to serious health complications, especially in young children, older adults, and those with weakened immune systems. Vaccination with PCV13 helps prevent these potentially life-threatening diseases.

Recognizing Symptoms of PCV13

You might notice several signs in your child that could indicate a pneumococcal infection:

  • Chest Pain: Pain in the chest, particularly when breathing or coughing.
  • Fatigue: General tiredness and weakness.
